East Anglia Region Annual report June 2011
Another year gone by!
We would like to welcome 2 new members Karen and Shaunni, and hope they will be able to attend some of our meetings.
We said a sad farewell to Sue Nairn, who has been a very active member of the local branch, holding posts of chairman and treasurer at various times since the local branch was formed! We wished her a long and happy retirement and presented her with a thank you gift at her last meeting in October.
Our meetings for the year got underway in March 2010 when we had a company presentation from Pfizer and our guest speaker was Dr Jane Sterling from Addenbrookes NHS Trust in Cambridge. She is a consultant dermatologist and spoke on Vulval Skin Conditions. We have had 3 further meetings with company presentations from Hunter Urology, LinC Medical, BBraun and Coloplast. We had discussion revolving around the recent Continence Services Audit, and had booked Dr Tammy Angel to speak at our October meeting but she was unfortunately unable to come at the last minute, although she has agreed to speak at our meeting this year in July.
We had our annual study day on 28th April where we had Dr Nigel Chapman the Nottingham Coroner to lead the day together with Eleanor Freeman. It was very well attended and provoked a great deal of thought!
Our financial status as at the end of March was
£2,631.86 in our high interest account , £527.70 in current account and £3.42 cash.
From this we financed 2 members to attend the ACA conference again – Tracy Whittred and Dawn Marsh.
Our plans for 2011 study day on bladder, bowel and tissue viability following spinal cord injury are well under way now for June 9th.
