The Relatives and Residents Association
This charity supports older people in care homes. One of their current priorities is the quality of continence care available to residents.
The Association sent a letter to all Chief Executives in England and enclosed a copy for the continence advisor. Read a copy of the letter here and prompt your CE to reply.
ACA London Branch feedback 2012
The London branch is pleased to say our Annual Study day and AGM on the 9th
July 2012 at Southbank University was very successful. 59 delegates from both the community and hospital attended including 14 companies exhibiting at the venue.
We had some fantastic speakers talking about the following topics: Mitrofanoff, Ketamine bladder syndrome, The mental capacity act in continence care, End of life: a need for bowel care guidance, Pelvic floor health: information for teenagers, The use of the catheter consent form in end of life care, Does Caesarean delivery prevent anal incontinence, NICE guidelines and The patient journey for gentlemen following radical prostatectomy. The feedback we had for the day was excellent and has provided some interesting topics for next year’s day.
We have booked the next Annual Study day for June 2013. We are in the process of planning and will send out more information about the day soon.
The branch now has 86 full members which is lower than last year. Work continues to encourage more members. We are still are one of largest branches.
We would like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year. We look forward in seeing you at to our conference next year.
Special Notice;
We are all Sadden by the News of the tragic death of Jacintha Saldahna: who was an active member of the London Branch and previously attended the London Branch ACA One Day Conference. In addition arranged and encouraged her staff at the Edward VII Hospital to attend. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.
