2019 AWARD WINNERS

Dorothy Mandelstam Award

This is an award of £1000 and is made each year to one member of the ACA to recognise excellence in a case study or paper on any aspect of clinical continence care. The winner receives a personal award of £500 plus their expenses to allow them to attend and present their work at the annual conference.

This year's award winner was presented to Karen Armstrong-Lamb, Senior research Nurse - Community Mid Yorks Hospitals NHS Trust and Jennifer Lodge, CNS: Bowel Health, Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust for their presentation:

 ‘The Symptomatic Rectal Stump’

 

Best Oral Presentation

It was incredibly difficult to decide on a winner because of the diversity of the topics and the extremely high quality of the presentations and their relevance to continence care.

This year’s award winner demonstrated the complexity of issues faced by people living with dementia and their carers.  Also identifying the challenges faced by clinicians and developing a conceptual model to aid clinical practice.

The Winner of this year’s Best Oral Presentation is Johanna Davies from the Centre For Ageing Dementia Research at Swansea University who was awarded £250 for her presentation:

'The development of a co-produced conceptual model concerning continence for people living with dementia in the community: A critical review of literature.'

 

Best Poster Presentation

The Winner of this year’s poster presentation attracted our attention through the quality and style of their poster.  The poster clearly defined their working model and identified a clear and collaborative approach to improve the patient journey and support for professional development. 

The Winner of this year’s Best Poster Prize is Emma Louise Bailey from Amcare who was awarded £150 for her poster:

‘Growing a Urology Nursing Team’

Voted for by delegates attending this year's conference, this year's Best Exhibition Stand was awarded to Optimum Medical

 

The Look Good Feel Good Award

 This is awarded jointly by ACA and Bladder and Bowel UK and is for new products only.  This year's awards winners were:
